MASTER CLASS - OLDER PEOPLE, DEMENTIA AND PALLIATIVE CARE ISSUES

With Lynne Booth in Bristol, BS9.

A one day class concentrating on the needs of Older people, dementia and palliative care issues for all ages. VRT techniques from all courses will be demonstrated including specialised training in hand and nail reflexology and VRT.  All techniques taught can be adapted for treating all clients.

The course includes:

• Special considerations for working with older people. 
• Improvising your techniques on domiciliary visits.
• Special considerations for working in palliative care situations. 
• Check list and cautions in oncology situations.
• Sleep and relaxation techniques including self-help techniques for clients and their carers.
• Balancing the body –using synergistic central thumb nail techniques, specific reflexes and the helper spine.
• Calming/holding techniques to help breathing and to reduce stress.
• New Pain and Mobility techniques to address the needs of immobile clients.
• Working the reflexes synergistically – VRT  “fanning” techniques: profound  techniques on the metatarsals.
• Treating the whole body through the thumb nails – with special reference to dementia issues.
• Working in an adaptive capacity to suit the changing needs of oncology clients.

A delicious lunch is included in the price and towels, cushions, foot cream and wipes are provided.

MASTER CLASS – FERTILITY ISSUES

This exclusive Master Class for a maximum of six people, is available for all reflexologists who have attended an authorised VRT course.  There is a maximum of six attendees only, to ensure a high level of personalised instruction where specialist skills will be learned and practiced throughout the day.  The course will cover a wide range and combination of techniques from all VRT courses plus skills from other complementary therapies that Christine has learnt or developed over the years.  There will be practical and theoretical sessions throughout the day.  Techniques from the full VRT repertoire are used and taught.

Fertility Issues

• Looking at the reasons for fertility issues in men and women
• An examination of the tests and medical interventions that clients can expect
• An understanding of the kinds of treatments which clients may be offered
• Emotional and psychological perspectives of fertility issues
• Discussion of treating clients who are also undergoing assisted conception techniques
• A brief look at the A & P of the Reproductive and Endocrine Systems
• An holistic approach
• Looking at techniques from other complementary therapies such as Reiki, Precision Reflexology, VRT Endocrine, Magnet Therapy, Colour Therapy, Crystal Healing as appropriate for the client
• Looking at lifestyle and giving advice about diet, supplements, exercise, weight & self help - the 4 month Pre-Conception Plan.
• Helping clients to maintain a positive attitude through the use of relaxation, affirmations, visualisations
• Giving good information for self-help with suggestions of suitable books, websites, referrals and handouts
• The role of the Reflexologist

We will look at some case studies and various combinations of techniques, both standing for vertical or weight-bearing work on the hands, as well as reclining techniques on the plantar of the foot. 

During the latter part of the day, there will be opportunities to discuss issues of concern to attendees and to look at individual client’s problems.

We will put together a suggested sequence of techniques which can be practiced on clients with Fertility issues.

A certificate of attendance will be issued and handouts will be provided.
Lunch is provided - A hot and cold buffet lunch and refreshments throughout the day are included in the price.

MASTER CLASS – PAIN AND MOBILITY ISSUES

This exclusive Master Class for a maximum of six people, run by Lynne Booth, the originator of Vertical Reflex Therapy (VRT), is available for all reflexologists who have attended an authorised VRT course.  TThe low numbers ensure a high level of personalised instruction where specialist skills will be learned and practised throughout the day.  Most therapists deal on a daily basis with conditions where pain, in many forms, and mobility issues are presented.  The course will cover a wide range and combination of techniques from all VRT courses plus other reflexology skills that Lynne Booth has learnt or developed over the years.  There are practical and theoretical sessions throughout the day. Techniques from the full VRT repertoire are used and taught.

Pain and Mobility Issues

• The definition of pain and how the body copes and compensates with chronic and acute pain.
• Painful conditions and reflexology methods of treating clients: from period pain to chronic joint pain.
• Acute conditions arising from accidents will be examined with emphasis on treating sports related issues. 
• Case studies and combinations of techniques, including Hand VRT and reclining foot techniques.
• New VRT Signalling work for one sided injuries or conditions is taught along with the precise, powerful Pelvic Balancing on the reclining feet. Also VRT Finger-work for limb pain and mobility issues.
• An Holistic Approach
• Brief sharing of techniques from other complementary therapies such as Nico Pauly Nerve Reflexology (devised by Froneberg) and developed by Nico Pauly a Belgian medic and manual-neuro therapist. Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and WHEE by Dr Dan Benor plus Kinesiology.
• Looking at lifestyle plus key issues for attendees or their client plus comprehensive treatment programme
• Helping clients to maintain a positive attitude through the use of relaxation, affirmations, visualisations
• Giving good information for practical application self-help through a comprehensive file of handouts.

Lunch is provided - A hot and cold buffet lunch and refreshments throughout the day are included in the price.
