VRT Hand and Nail-Working Course
Click here to bookVertical Reflex Therapy (VRT) was originally developed to help mobility issues but has subsequently proved successful in treating most health problems in an holistic way. This Advanced VRT Hand and Nail-working Course is for reflexologists who have already attended an authorised Basic VRT course and are familiar with the techniques and principles of VRT. This course allows the therapist to explore new areas of reflexology using the recently documented reflexes within the zones on the nails. The hands are just as receptive as the feet, although the reflexes can take a few seconds longer to register.
Hand reflexology can be used at the start and finish of a classical reclining treatment. You can mix-and-match hand and foot reflexology for greater results. Be flexible with your reflexology techniques and learn to make the most of the foot and hand reflexes.
VRT Courses in cost in the region of £99 - £105 per person, per day depending on location and organiser.
Instruction will be given in the following techniques:
Nail working in its simplified mode (centre of nail-on-nail and also full nail-working) will be taught. Read all about VRT Hand and Nail reflexology in Vertical Reflexology for Hands which can be ordered from this website. The hands are as equally responsive as the feet but are less firm and fleshy. The thumb, when weight-bearing,
is not naturally supported like the big toe so should always be steadied by your other hand as you work. The Basic VRT treatment should always remain short and each session should not continue for more than five minutes at the beginning and end of a session. At the end of a session only the wrists and spinal reflexes need working in the VRT mode for approximately one minute and then 3 - 4 minutes can be used for some advanced techniques. A single reflex should be worked for maximum of 30 seconds. Self-help can be used several times in a day with great success but only use VRT about twice a day on family or friends as the body needs time to adjust. One to two half
hour hand treatments per week of hand, or up to two one hour treatments, for foot reflexology are acceptable. Teach your clients to use self-help on their hands twice a day between treatments for only 2 -3 minutes at a time.
