Round About: The Shoulder
with renowned Danish reflexologists
Saturday 20th - Sunday 21st November 2010
at St Monica Trust, Bristol
2 day course £240 ( VRT Network Members £230)
The Syllabus
Touchpoint is well-known in Denmark and in each workshop the tutors concentrate on a specific health problem or body area and examine it in detail from many viewpoints. In order to develop a more effective and direct treatment, they include the best from different reflexology traditions around the world – more reflexes, better results. Dorthe and Peter always include conventional knowledge such as anatomy/physiology, pathology and allopathic treatment. Both Peter and Dorthe speak excellent english. They offer alternative views on disease causation, and look at the philosophical and psychological implications involved. The workshops have a strong focus on practical hands-on work and learning techniques that may immediately be set to use in your practice.
“It was one of the best courses I have been on. They were both excellent teachers ... I have resolved a clients lower back pain in one session.” Corrine Brown, attendee on Round About: The Spine Course
Round about: The Shoulder. Treating problems in the shoulder region is a challenge to any therapist. Many forget the ventral side of the shoulder girdle. Sensory disturbances in the arms for example, is often due to tensions in the ventral shoulder area and the “three thoracic gates”. Knowing about these connections it is often simple to correct. Shoulder problems tend to be complex in nature and because they often develop slowly, it is important to be able to identify the early signs and symptoms.
In this course we look at reflexological treatment of the most common shoulder problems:
• reduced mobility
• inflammations
• instable shoulder joint
• acromio-clavicular joint
• arthrosis
• frozen shoulder
• rotator cuff problems
• pinched nerves
• refered pain from the spine or inner organs
• the sterno-clavicular joint
• thoracic outlet syndrome
• pains around the shoulder blades
• sports injuries
For therapy we include:
• nerve reflex points
• foot reflexes for specific shoulder muscle
• a shoulder reflex on the lower leg
• connections with the autonomous nervous system
• Foot reflexes for teeth connected to shoulder problems
• assessment of range of motion
• trigger points
• posture
• stretching exercises
With the workshop comes an extensive syllabus covering both theory and hands-on techniques. The fee covers a two-day workshop with both Dorthe Krogsgaard and Peter Lund Frandsen including a 30-40 page fully illustrated manual, CPD certificate and liquid refreshments.
